Hospitality, Recovery, and Community Leadership of Hospitality
Dimitrios “Jimmy” Fragoyannis
Owner & Partner, Mamma Lucia Restaurant
Board member: So What Else
Jimmy Fragoyannis founded Mamma Lucia in 1997 and has spent more than 30 years building one of the Greater Baltimore–Washington area’s most recognized Italian restaurant groups, rooted in quality, consistency, and hospitality.
In addition to his work in the restaurant industry, Jimmy is a dedicated advocate for recovery and community service. July 7, 2026, marks eleven years of sobriety, reflected through his involvement with Father Martin’s Ashley, Caron Treatment Centers, and So What Else.
Through the annual Mamma Lucia & Lafayette Bank Golf Tournament, now in its 18th year, he has helped raise more than $1 million to support youth programs and regional food security initiatives.
Jimmy lives in Maryland with his wife and best friend, Tina.
Community Partnership and Active Presence
Beyond the kitchen, Jimmy Fragoyannis has become a longstanding force in regional community development and food security. For more than 15 years, he has played an active leadership role with So What Else, serving as both a dedicated board member and hands-on partner in large-scale food rescue initiatives that support youth programs, summer camps, and underserved families throughout the region.
Whether coordinating meal support for after-school programs or contributing to major Food Rescue Bank milestones, Jimmy’s impact is defined not only by philanthropy, but by consistent action, personal involvement, and a deep commitment to the communities he serves.
